I see over and over again in my DMs stories about others not being able to land their first job in tech. This is what worked for me.

Parents: What do you do again for work? 
Me: I'm a Product Designer
Parents: So you design products?
Me: I make products user friendly
Parents: Like computers? 
Me: ...sure
