Pregnancy is not some switch you can turn on and off. When a child is conceived, a new and unique set of DNA is created which never before has been, nor ever will be again. An individual life has been created. Killing him or her doesn’t change the fact that he or she was alive.

When you think about it, 50 years of marriage isn’t even that long at all. There are people who will work a job for more than 50 years. Is the marriage covenant not any more enduring than a job, or a mortal life for that matter?
