Just received the sad news that sociolinguist Barbara Horvath, from University of Sydney, has passed away. 💔 She was a pioneer in the variationist study of Australian English, and as Trevor Johnston’s PhD supervisor, played a pivotal role in the first linguistics research on Auslan.
