What was the best part of your day today?

One of my favorite coworkers was fired today. None of us saw it coming. She was a hard worker, absolutely beloved & has been on our unit over 20 years. I’m not owed details but what a gut punch. We’re all shaken. 😔

What is a stereotype about where you live that is completely accurate?

I started reading this book yesterday. I stayed up late reading it. I woke up early to finish it. I nearly wept on my drive into work as I devoured the last perfect, beautiful words. It’s like The Notebook but even better. I loved this.

A friend recently got COVID after nearly three years of perpetual mask wearing.

Defeated, she said “It’s like all that diligence doesn’t matter anymore.”

I said “You don’t know how many times you were exposed & DIDN’T get it because of your mask.”

What was the best part of your day today?

These are the three questions I want to ask everyone I meet from now on:

Tonight I made my first ever homemade lasagna plus garlic knots for dinner & when I say I closed my eyes with contented joy, I’m not lying. Carbs & cheese, man. Few things better.

Today, due to not taking the med I was reacting to, was an excellent day. I had energy, ran all the errands, got a massage, felt alert & focused all day. After a string of struggle bus days, a good day with no major complaints feels like an absolute treasure. I’ll take it! 😊
