NV Energy’s gas teams are beginning to purge the gas line in the Montreux area now. This is necessary before we can safely restore gas services once evacuation orders have been lifted. Those in the area may notice an odor, this is a normal. We expected to be completed by 8 pm.

#DavisFire: our 34 member Las #Vegas area strike team has arrived safely in Northern Nevada and is supporting the local fire stations there. Clark County FD and Henderson Fire are assisting Truckee Meadows Fire & Rescue. Las Vegas FireRescue and CNLV Fire Department are assisting Reno Fire Department.

Davis Fire Evening Operational Update - September 12, 2024

THANK YOU to our crews who continue to work day and night to staff #DavisFire highway closures. We remain on-scene supporting highway closures for your safety. Please respect our crews and all first responders, and follow all official safety guidance. Stay safe Nevada!

After gaining access to some areas impacted by the #DavisFire, our crews restored power to 1,150 customers. The total impacted customer count is down to about 1,250. Our teams will continue to re-energize areas in coordination with fire officials where it's safe to do so.

It was an honor to thank our firefighters and first responders at the Incident Command briefing this morning. They’re hard at work protecting our state and community every single hour.

Safety is our No. 1 priority. Before our crews head out to the work on restoring power due to the #DavisFire, they participated in a safety briefing.

Today, Rep. Mark Amodei and I got to visit Slide Mountain to see areas impacted by the #DavisFire. The work of our firefighters is heroic, and our emergency management partners have done incredible work mitigating the fire and its impacts.

Yesterday our crews gained access to new areas damaged by the #DavisFire for assessment. Today, they are working to repair the damaged poles in that area, which are located in steep, rocky terrain. Our crews are working to repair those poles as quickly & safely as possible.
