If you're thinking it's been rather wet around Tampa the last couple of days, then you would be correct. In fact, during 1 hour yesterday TPA recorded 3.80 inches of rain setting a New Hourly Rainfall Record, and today there was 2.63 inches in 1 hour coming in at #6. #flwx

While many areas have remained mostly dry so far today, there is still a likelihood of additional showers and storms this evening bringing heavy downpours and increased flooding potential due to already saturated soils, as well as gusty winds and frequent lightning. #FLwx

Scattered to numerous showers and storms will develop again this afternoon and evening. While overall rain totals are not expected to be unusual for September, many areas are still saturated from heavy rains earlier this week and could see flooding from today's storms.

As we transition from a light southeasterly flow to a westerly flow, the timing for thunderstorms will shift. For today, we're still looking at afternoon showers and storms across the area #flwx

Similar to yesterday, showers and storms have developed this evening, focusing toward interior locations as the west coast sea breeze has migrated inland, interacting with outflow from earlier convection and the east coast sea breeze. #FLwx
