Today we remember Patrolman Francis P. Crowe, who died on March 8, 1904, from injuries he sustained five days earlier when he was struck by a trolly car while on his post.

Twenty years ago, Detective Rodney Andrews & Detective James Nemorin made the ultimate sacrifice while working undercover to stop an illegal gun trafficking ring. Their courageous service will never be forgotten amongst their fellow finest as we continue to honor their legacies

Today we remember NYPD 44th Precinct Police Officer Thomas J. Gallagher who died on March 12, 2018, from illnesss he developed following his assignment to the search and recovery efforts at the World Trade Center site following the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.

Today we remember NYPD 84th Precinct Police Officer Alain K. Schaberger who was killed on March 13, 2011, when he was pushed off a building stoop by a suspect he was attempting to arrest.

Our condolences go out to the family, friends, & co-workers of Police Officer Garrett Crumby, from Huntsville Police, who was shot & killed in the line of duty. A second officer was shot in the same incident & is currently fighting for his life. We wish him a full & speedy recovery.

Nine years ago, we lost an NYC hero — NYPD Housing PSA 1 Detective Dennis Guerra. Dennis died in the line of duty as he courageously ran into a building fire in Coney Island, attempting to rescue those inside. Today we renew our solemn vow to #NeverForget Dennis and the sacrifice he made.

Two years ago today, Detective Anastasios Tsakos was tragically killed in the line of duty. The NYPD family and our city will #NeverForget Detective Tsakos, his sacrifice, and his legacy of service.

Whether it was 3 months or over 30 years ago, the NYPD never forgets. It is the pledge that we make to every member when they walk through the doors of our academy. It is our vow to lend our unwavering support to their families & honor legacies like that of Det. Troy Patterson.
