Fantastic panels, a great mix of research presentations & pedagogy talks, lots of great food & networking, and a warm welcome from Niagara University ! Such a pleasure to spend a beautiful fall weekend with these colleagues. Thanks to all!

Very happy with my presentation "Black Bodies, American Cultural Diplomacy and the Cold War: Alvin Ailey Company’s Tours to Communist Romania during the 1970s." Niagara University, which organized the NYSAEH Conference, is a hidden gem. I met wonderful colleagues and scholars.

As a law professor, I contend that majoring in history is *the best* preparation you could have for several core law school courses, including especially constitutional law, and among the best preparation you could have for most of the others.

The next meeting of the Montreal British History seminar will take place on Nov 18 @ 4 pm. Lisa Ford (U of New South Wales) will present "'Liberated Africans' and Imperial Inquiry in the Caribbean: The Problem of Evidence." Details attached.
