This might be biased, but I strongly disagree. I see the growth of this game everywhere I look. LANs are bigger. Local events are more abundant. Collegiate Splatoon is HUGE. Online weeklies have insane turnouts. We don't need Nintendo to survive and we ain't going nowhere.

Splatoon might be the second game next to Fortnite to actually properly execute live events. There is so much heart and soul into this it's insane and the best part is that this runs on switch without a single frame drop

Btw we are not getting a game set in the past, at most, we're just going to be in a more aesthetically old fashioned location (think kyoto), the devs have explicitly stated they want the games to grow up with the playerbase and it would be dumb to stop it now.
