Just how much money does the oil and natural gas sector invest in Canada? A lot. In fact, since 1950 the industry has spent roughly $2 trillion.

Canada’s oil and natural gas sector is a major job creator. It directly and indirectly employs 450,000 Canadians and nearly 1 million when induced jobs are included.

While most of Canada’s oil and natural gas production occurs in Alberta and British Columbia, Newfoundland and Saskatchewan are also significant producers of oil.

Jobs, jobs and more jobs. Canada’s oil and natural gas sector is a significant job creator, and according to a recent report, the future for new jobs looks bright!

Canada is the 5th largest producer of natural gas in the world. British Columbia is a critical part of Canada’s natural gas future—not only does it produce nearly 40% of Canada’s natural gas, but Canada’s West Coast will be home to LNG Canada and other LNG export facilities.
