Starting today, the forced inclusion of organizations in the "foreign agents" registry begins in Georgia. GYLA continues its resistance to protect constitutional values and refuses to register. A fine of 25,000 GEL is likely to be imposed.

Today, the Parliament of Georgia passed the "Family Values & Protection of Minors" bill in its 2nd hearing. This legislation endangers fundamental rights, risks further discrimination, and practically weaponizes laws to suppress not only vulnerable groups but freedoms in general.

The Georgian Parliament adopted laws on ‘family values and protection of minors’ which will undermine the fundamental rights of the people and increase discrimination & stigmatisation. I call on Georgia to withdraw this legislation, further derailing the country from its EU path.
