Some good news: I have received a substantial grant from the Swedish Science Council - 4.7 million SEK - to study gene-environment interactions in the formation of political behavior over the coming years. Surprised and honored!

Just had two very inspiring days with this crowd in Oslo during our workshop on genetics and social contexts. We discussed exciting papers on genetic influences on social outcomes across time, groups and contexts! Let’s do this again!

Even highly stringent conventional observational methods likely still contain a large amount of familial confounding. For a large range of predictors and political preference measures, a good rule of thumb is that half of the effect size size is not real. cambridge.org/core/journals/…

⚠️HELP: We are looking for studies examining the interaction between socioeconomic status (SES) and polygenic indices for education/(non)cognitive skills on *educational outcomes* Know any? DM us, and re-post it! 🙏 @asta_b_lund and I are doing a GxSES meta-analysis!

Happy to see this PhD student retreat coming together, and getting a perfect opportunity to present on-going work regarding the attitudinal effects of genetics research concerning socioeconomic life outcomes.

After 36 talks, 30 poster presentations, 2 keynotes, more than 100 participants, and some of the best food and drinks Rotterdam can offer, we concluded #ESSGN2024! Looking forward to the next meeting of this amazing community!

New article out by Qinya Feng in Journal of Experimental Political Science! In the paper, she uses not one, not two, but -three- natural experiments in Swedish twin data to scrutinize the relationship between education and attitudes towards immigration. bit.ly/4fL2k9i
