There is a form of Christianity today that has men gulping beer, smoking like chimneys, and generally living like feudal kings while their wives walk around on eggshells, terrified to say the wrong thing or not affect the right attitude.

This is EXCEPTIONAL by my man Ryan Helfenbein.

He is one of the most encouraging rising voices today--very sharp, gracious, fun, careful, and bold as a lion.

It's TERRIFIC to have the family together in gathered worship--but babies need to be able to cry without overtaking the service, and our little kids have to be trained in love to sit still, be quiet, not disrupt others, pay attention (in a form), and be respectful to the body.

Some realities about babies crying in church:

1. Babies cry in church. It happens.

2. We love babies as Christians.

3. In my humble perspective, it's a good thing for babies to not extensively disrupt the corporate gathering.

4. It takes hard work to train children in love to

Bro, we have *complete freedom* to have a nursery. 'Thou Shalt Not Have a Nursery' ain't in Scripture.

Love me some crying babies, but it's no bad thing for mothers to have a place to go while their tiny kids adjust to group settings. It's a good thing, actually.

Spurgeon recommended preachers preach for about 40-45 minutes. I think that's a good general target. Leaves pastor and hearer feeling fresh, and the nursery workers aren't looking to hire a hit man.

If you preach for an hour, that sermon better be polished brass...

What did enslaved Africans have to do with the church, Eric?

Do we yawn over that matter, too, my young friend?

As a born-again Christian, I stand with Shai Davidai, the VERY COURAGEOUS Jewish professor at Columbia. We differ, but I stand with him against Hamas without fear and without qualification.

He is 100% right.

Good morning: the strongest force in the cosmos is not evil, discouragement, despair, terrorism, the evil plots of mankind, or any godless ideology--it's the saving and transforming grace of God.

We are gonna look back at this era and realize anti-semitism was a much, much bigger deal than we thought.

Pay close attention right now to whoever’s suggesting otherwise.

In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

While our government says the opposite, we must confess this: “gender identity” should not be conflated with sex.

The Biden Administration is wrong.

Manhood and womanhood are made by God.

As your genes show, you’re either a man or a woman.

Your body IS your identity.

All your instincts are right, Lizzie: men must protect women.

But we have to remember a few sad truths:

1. Many men have not been trained to protect.

2. When men do stand up for others, they are often attacked.

3. Aggressive and assertive men are labeled “toxic” today.

4.

In conservative evangelicalism, we have a lot of expository truth-tellers. We need them greatly!

But we need a related type, too: the sherpas. The men with high relational skill, steady temperaments, good listeners, gracious confronters, bridge-builders, wise counselors.
