It’s annoying when I meet someone and they’re like “oh you’re Canadian, do you know Jim?” as if Canada is a high school, because weirdly often I do know Jim and end up reinforcing their belief.

Browsertech in LA!

I’ve been wanting to attend one of Jamsocket excellent Browsertech events and was very excited to host one at Upfront Ventures. Thanks for making it happen Paul Butler!

No, WebAssembly is not.

The Component Model is.

There is a huge difference!

WebAssembly is a standard by the w3c, specifying “core modules”, a binary format, and an instruction set for a virtual machine.

The Component Model is the CORBA/COM retry, on top of WebAssembly.

What's stopping you from triaging your GitHub issues like this?

In other news, local-first apps are so much fun to build.

Folks this is your captain speaking. We’re lifting off a bit late, but we should be able to make it up in the air, I’ll just drive a straight line instead of the bigass curve over Greenland they want me to do.

'The Arrow approach of using a singular data representation (with Parquet as a cheap compression step across the wire) means apps can work with orders of magnitude more data without sacrificing responsiveness.'
