A powerful heartfelt opinion piece from Louise, a carer, on behalf of those affected by the sale of city's #Dementia Centre. Her calls will resonate with many of St George's #disabled service users who have been left with no facility and service at all.

Disabled people are at the bottom of the pile for support in Peterborough. As those who made these decisions age, the penny will drop and by then it will be too late for so many whose conditions and quality of life have deteriorated.

Attended #PeterboroughStationQuarter #accessibility workshop today. There were lots of probing questions and pertinent accessibility points posed. Outcome: we remain concerned and think there is a good deal more work to do - but thank you. (Sorry for lack of a photo!)

This is such heartening news. In contrast, what a terrible loss a previous PCC administration did not listen and save St George's. This has cost service users' their health and wellbeing and circa £9 million economic and social value (#SROI) to the council and the city.
