Many of Macron's supporters (+media allies!) have dismissed talk about him lurching hard-right for years. But the Barnier nomination makes it obvious. He'd rather his coalition govern with Le Pen's stamp of approval than have to compromise with the left. Can't be any more clear.

The The New York Times is manufacturing consent for Israel's killing of American activist, Aysenur Ezgi Eygi. The only violence at these demonstrations is from settlers who attack and harass activists with impunity.

I mean the abrogation of meaningful democracy is at the heart of both their projects, so it makes sense that they'd get on like a house on fire.

Observation from a friend in the UK about the serious democratic deficit around the world right now. No wonder more and more young people are feeling boxed out and not voting while others find appeal in politicians who claim to reject the system.
