Last week, PCFR Honor Guard members attended the National Honor Guard Conference. Our members enhanced their skills, networked with other honor guards, gained insights into best practices and competed in the blended team competition earning first, second and third place finishes.

In August, #PCFR responded to a total of 10,773 service calls, including 63 fire calls that resulted in an estimated $2.4 million in property value saved. We are proud to serve Polk County and look forward to continuing to serve our community every day!

Polk County Fire Rescue commitment to excellence starts when our members begin their time with PCFR. This week, PCFR New Hire Class 24-09 received extrication training. Our new members learned extrication techniques and practiced with multiple pieces of equipment.

In August, #PCFR responded to a total of 8,763 EMS service calls with a total of 7,267 transports. This includes 475 high-risk calls comprised of stroke, trauma, sepsis and STEMI alerts. We are proud to serve Polk County and look forward to continuing to serve our community!

On the 23rd anniversary of September 11, 2001, we as a nation remember the sorrow of that day. We also remember those who answered the call to aid their fellow citizens. We will always honor those heroes who risked their lives and paid the ultimate sacrifice while saving others.
