Three years ago seeing a mum riding her child on a cargo bike for transport would have been a rarity. Now times are changing and people are ditching the car for their health, to save money and the for the environment amp-theguardian-com.cdn.ampproject.org/c/s/amp.thegua…

Isn't active transport great? Just met a guy on the Westgate Punt who had run the half marathon and was riding home (ebike) to the west via the Punt.

Recently there’s been 33 recorded crashes on Inkerman St in East St Kilda. 2/3s of those involved were #cyclists & pedestrians. One of the most dangerous roads in #PortPhillip. At Council on Weds there’s opportunity to improve road safety for all - and add a lot of tree canopy.

Riders! For a safer, more pleasant, Inkerman St, let the City of Port Phillip know your preferred option at the Council meeting tomorrow, Wednesday. Excellent introduction to the options below thanks to Progressive Port Phillip

It is too often claimed that everyday tasks can't be done by bike, and that's why car parking must be protected above human lives. This is contradicted by what we observe.

'We've dedicated so much on street space to the storage of vehicles that we don't have as much green space or trees or seating or even wide footpaths' David Mepham challenges the primacy of carparking in urban planning and decision making in The Age

No matter how the council members vote later this month, the data is clear. The community desires safer modes of transportation, lower speed limits, and more green spaces.
