Just a care home girl I think there’s a similar phenomenon amongst AHPs and also doctors? People are attracted to the profession thinking that they will enjoy certain aspects of it, but then learn on the job the somewhat more nuanced pleasures of giving really good care to older people.

It strikes me as strange that MP's are on £95k and they get all their heating and electrical bills paid. But a pensioner must be on less than £12k and then they have to apply to get £200. Seems like these MP's should be paying their own bills.

Sad to hear of the death of James Earl Jones who had a lifelong #stutter #stammer. Also sad that so much of the news surrounding this uses the 'overcoming' narrative, which implies that you can only succeed in life by NOT stuttering. Not true.
