Last week we finished Breishees. This week we read the 1st chapter in Book 2. Once again, the Book & the Parsha are called by the same name. This one is Shemot. Shemot in English is names. However, Names is not the name of this book in English! In English it's called Exodus.

This week’s Parsha is Vaera. Hebrew for "And I appeared.” HaShem talks to Moshe & we read about the trips Moshe & his brother Aaron make to see the Pharaoh. Each time they go the Pharaoh becomes more stubborn. The more stubborn he gets the harder he makes it on the enslaved Jews.
