🧱🧠👥Build the Innovation Landscape!👥🧠🧱 Have you registered for our upcoming Hot Topic event with Joel Birch (Parody Account) from Firebird Learning using LEGO Serious Play as our medium of conversation to deep dive into ‘innovation’? Don’t miss out! ⤵️ acel.org.au/ACELWEB/Active…
Our Dayton Primary School PP students are doing an amazing job using adjectives on a Monday morning! 🐕 = silly, naughty, disgusting, cheeky, smelly, smiley and dirty are just some of the words they were coming up with. Miss McKay is doing some retrieval practice ahead of sentence writing ⭐️
High expectations for work presentation standards are established in our early years classes at Dayton Primary School and then consistently reinforced. The improvement in our students’ work standards across the school has been AMAZING! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
When people visit to see what explicit teaching looks like at Dayton Primary School we often get asked how we differentiate… I’m in awe of how Miss McKay differentiates to make sure EVERY child has work at their level. All while teaching explicitly. EI doesn’t mean everyone gets the same…
It’s awesome to see Emma Tait warming her students up for a writing lesson by practising letter formation - an often overlooked but significant aspect of writing instruction, like keyboarding… Our Dayton Primary School students are so well set up to be successful in every lesson! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Our amazing Dayton Primary School teachers, like Emma Tait, do a wonderful job making it so clear what the students are going to learning in the ‘lesson introduction’ component of our outlined lesson structure. This includes: lesson intention, success criteria & activating prior knowledge.
We 💜 our Dayton Primary School community! One of our Dayton dads, Matt, brought in an ambulance 🚑 to show our K+PP students what one is like & to explain what happens in a medical emergency.🚨 I loved hearing a student so excitedly tell his mum, “I went in an ambulance today!” ⭐️
Thanks so much Tracey Ezard - I do love coffee ☕️ and the jams sound divine! What a lovely surprise… 😍
Our Dayton Primary School postcards of appreciation & acknowledgement. Just a very simple way to communicate via snail 🐌 mail with families about the work of their child. Or show our appreciation to someone for helping our school shine ✨😊🥰 we simply love 💕 Rosie’s artwork Rosiepaine
I love how after outlining ‘retrieval practice’ in our staff PL & Focus of the Week our incredible Dayton Primary School teachers work to implement this into their teaching. Our Yr 1s are doing a brain 🧠 dump on Ancient Greece and then doing ‘give one get one’ with 3 partners. Superstars⭐️
I am so impressed with the knowledge that our Yr 1 students have about Ancient Greece, and the well-developed vocabulary that is evident in their brainstorm ahead of their writing lessons. At Dayton Primary School our students rise to high expectations! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Silver linings Dayton Primary School - when you can’t leave school because of faults that won’t let you arm up, but you get to see the school looking amazing at dusk as you hunt down the issues that are stopping the alarm from working… 🌅
It’s so amazing! Mrs Mason and our students have done an incredible job. I can’t wait to see everything hanging for our Dayton Primary School Family Open Night this evening… 🖼️
A HUGE shoutout to Joel Birch (Parody Account) from Firebird🐦🔥Learning for facilitating a LEGO Serious Play conversation on ‘innovation’ last night, + for Bloom at UWA for providing the incredible venue & tasty refreshments to allow this rich conversation to take place. What a fun night!🙌🏻🧠🧱
🌟Yesterday’s Dayton Primary School Family Open Night was such an epic evening! We can safely say it was our best open night… EVER! 🌟 It was brilliant to see so many students & their family members come through the school to look at all the absolutely fabulous work they have been doing.
