We were delighted to welcome Secretary Janet Yellen of the Treasury Department to the Triangle region and provide a platform for constructive conversations about economic growth and resilience in our community.
During her visit to the Greater Raleigh Chamber, Secretary Janet Yellen of the Treasury Department shared valuable insights on national economic policies and their impact on local businesses.
It was a pleasure to meet with @RaleighChamber today to talk with regional business leaders. Treasury Department will continue to partner with the private sector as we work together to make investments that expand economic opportunity.
Today, the Greater Raleigh Chamber announced its new 5-year economic development strategy, EDGE 7. Every five years, we develop a comprehensive economic development strategy that is informed by past successes, current circumstances, and future opportunities. #EDGE7
The new strategy, titled “Building a Competitive Future,” is focused on creating an ecosystem in which people, communities, and companies can thrive. The EDGE 7 campaign enters its public phase today, having raised $4.68 M, which is 67% of the $7 M goal. Greater Raleigh Chamber #EDGE7
EDGE is the funding mechanism that supports the Greater Raleigh Chamber’s economic development strategy that is implemented across several of the Chamber’s programs including Wake County Economic Development, @raleighecondev, and the Chamber’s Government Affairs department. #EDGE7
Over the last 30 years, EDGE has fueled the success of Wake County and have had a transformational impact on the broader Research Triangle Region. EDGE 7 continues a long tradition of impact. #EDGE7 Greater Raleigh Chamber
Several notable business and community leaders have lent their support and voice to the campaign, with Barbara Griffith, MD, of @dukeraleigh and Kevin McLaughlin, of Duke Energy, serving as co-chairs.
55 investors have committed to the campaign, creating a solid foundation of support as we move into the public phase. Support for this work is seen not only in these investments, but also in the increased contribution of many of our current investors. #EDGE7 Greater Raleigh Chamber
