Fascinating contrasts on #LondonLOOP walk starting from Kingston...deer in Bushy Park, then peaceful River Crane then planes low overhead near Heathrow. A bit of a revelation at walking pace. Also good practice for upcoming sponsored walk ... (1 of 2)

London Loop Leg 8. Petts Wood to Hayes. Over halfway now. A lovely rural setting and a couple of villages to boot. Had to settle for a hefty 6.5% ale 🥴 at the Greyhound in Keston rather than a 3.8% ale which was off. Oh well. #londonloop

Great news that we can now all walk on Thames Path National Trail alongside Fulham Football Club (match days aside) - it already feels totally obvious and natural not to have to do that weird cut round - hurray!

Do you know about the lost canals of South London? The southern end of the Green Link walk was once part of a canal linking Peckham to the Thames. As you walk it, look out for well-preserved bridges, and clues in place names such as Glengall Wharf footways.london/the-green-link

Measure twice, cut once. Drivers, if you purchase a car that doesn't fit in your driveway please have a quiet word with yourself, unless of course, you are proactively going out of your way to advertise your entitlement and disdain for the community you live in

Ever wondered how the Walk London routes are created? We recently explored a section of the #GreenLink and David talked about how the concept of the route was born and delivered as London's newest walking route. footways.london/the-green-link

As you walk from St James's Park to Victoria Station, contemplate that this glimpse of Westminster Cathedral did not exist before 2006, when Cardinal Place shopping centre opened up new walking routes through what had been an impenetrable office block footways.london/westminster
