Roque, MD, D.ABA, FAAP (He/Him) traveled to Peru to participate in a surgical mission campaign, where the team of 5 surgeons, 3 surgical trainees, 4 anesthesiologists, 5 OR & 5 PACU nurses, & 2 speech language pathologists completed 42 cleft lip & palate procedures. Today I supervised 2 residents who are URM. We cared for our pts, learned a lot, then laughed & commiserated about our immigrant stories/hardships growing up. I need them to know they BELONG. If this queer Salvadoran immigrant can make it, so can they. #DEI #RepresentationMatters
