Dr. Remigio A. Roque, MD, D.ABA, FAAP (He/Him) traveled to Peru to participate in a surgical mission campaign, where the team of 5 surgeons, 3 surgical trainees, 4 anesthesiologists, 5 OR & 5 PACU nurses, & 2 speech language pathologists completed 42 cleft lip & palate procedures. Kudos to Dr. Roque & team!

Today I supervised 2 residents who are URM. We cared for our pts, learned a lot, then laughed & commiserated about our immigrant stories/hardships growing up. I need them to know they BELONG. If this queer Salvadoran immigrant can make it, so can they.

Yes.
Also, saves you from guessing it the 'wrong way' which is sometimes flattering but also is just annoying as a patient to deal with.
Reminds me of my fave way to end my pre-ops,'is there anything I didn't ask about your child's health that you think is impt for me to know?
