The opening of the Hard Rock Casino Rockford means: 👷Good-paying, union jobs used in construction. 💼900 jobs created. ✈️Increase in tourism. 📈A boost to our regional economy. It was great to celebrate the grand opening with my neighbors in Northern Illinois!

As your trusted voice in Washington, my job is to fight to bring resources back home. And right now, our police need support. That is why I met with Rockford police officers to discuss ways we can make sure law enforcement have the tools they need to do their jobs.

My neighbors shouldn't have to travel hundreds of miles to access affordable health care. I stopped by the Kewanee Physical Therapy and Rehab Specialists to discuss ways we can make heath care for accessible to those living in rural communities.

Thoughts and prayers are not enough. We must make sure everyone is safe from gun violence, especially our kids at school. I will continue to work across the aisle to find common sense solutions to the problem. Doing nothing is not an option.

Our farmers are working off a farm bill that was passed in 2018. That's just not right. We need a bipartisan Farm Bill that empowers our farmers and reduces food prices down. Thanks to Illinois Farm Bureau President Brian Duncan for working with me to make life better for IL farmers.

A big thank you to Superior Ambulance in Loves Park for letting me ride along with them to see first-hand how they help Northern Illinois families. Our EMTs play an important role in keeping our communities healthy. And I am so grateful for the work they do to save lives!
