Why do our city leaders have such a hard time calling out our DA for not locking up these criminals but continue to talk about gun laws? These shooting are happening with or without stricter gun laws.

The fact officials think this is the issue tells your everything you need to know why things are so bad in New Orleans.

Do they not realize that we have a DA and judges who constantly fail to effectively handle criminals? Fixing that has to be top priority. Yet, it’s completely overlooked. Instead, we get this. ⬇️

As a Jewish student Tulane University I am horrified that our administration is not allowing the police to step in and break up the illegal encampment that is continuing to threaten the safety of students on campus. Instead they have moved our classes online and cancelled our senior event.

The most terrifying night of my life. My fiancé and I huddled on the floor, not knowing where the sound of military-style weapons were firing from. Our normally tranquil street was turned into a crime scene. There isn’t a single answer that fixes crime, but we need action.

These are the people NOLA needs to keep out of office. All they care about is using local office as a stepping stone to advance in the Democratic Party.

Any word from Councilmember Oliver Thomas? This is his district and he’s criminal justice committee chair. Will there be contentious questioning of the DA & judges on shoplifting prosecutions & sentencing? These meetings have been quite cozy considering the problems in the criminal justice system.
