Netanyahu is a murderer — as a genocidaire of countless Palestinians and also, through neglect and craven abdication of all duty, of some Israelis.

Netanyahu is a murderer — as a genocidaire, of countless Palestinians and also, through neglect and craven abdication of all duty and in fulfillment of messianic dreams of zealots and his own selfish ambition, of an increasing number of Israelis.

Because Biden has not so far imposed any conditions on Netanyahu over his stalling and sabotaging all of the talks that could have released the hostages—including the six killed this week—so far, what does “final proposal” even mean? Will Bibi be told to face consequences now?

Biden is wasting Ukrainian lives as he tries to avoid crossing fascist Russia's red lines that he imagines and pretends to set red lines for increasingly fascist Israel, which then bulldozes right over them and kills thousands more Palestinians. So much blood on Biden's hands.

My author-signed copy in my hands, I’m digging into Saul Noam Zaritt Saul Noam Zaritt’s brand new book, which is, so far, a really great read for folks interested broadly in translation studies (in addition to those interested in Yiddish).

We're now in a truly stupid phase of crackdown on student protests over Gaza: a ban on all chalking on campus, as at my PhD alma mater Harvard University. "Stupid" doesn't even begin to describe this. Petty, ridiculous, definitely anti-democratic. thecrimson.com/article/2024/9… The Harvard Crimson

Oh FFS. Steven Thrasher is a brilliant writer, “The Viral Underclass” is an essential book for our times, and what Northwestern is doing here is complete bullshit.

The IDF shot (in the head) and killed a 26-year old American at a protest in the occupied West Bank today. She was an alumna of the University of Washington University of Washington, where I teach, who majored in psychology and minored in Middle Eastern Languages and Cultures. dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1…

I’m hearing from colleagues that Aysenur Eygi graduated from UW College of Arts & Sciences this past June and was a brilliant student. I’m now aware of at least four colleagues who taught her and who are in shock. This is devastating and horrifying.

3 U.S. citizens have now been killed in the West Bank in 11 months. There MUST be justice & accountability. The Netanyahu gvt hasn't provided that & the Biden Admin needs to do more to obtain it. Those responsible must be held accountable & the DOJ must take action if necessary:

First statement by a U.S. official I’m seeing on the killing, by the Israeli Army, of Aysenur Eygi—by my congressional representative Pramila Jayapal (the victim—a recent University of Washington graduate—would have been Rep. Jayapal’s constituent).

Now The Seattle Times is reporting on the murder, by the Israeli Army in the occupied West Bank, of recent UW College of Arts & Sciences graduate Aysenur Eygi. My colleague and dear friend Aria Fani—the murdered UW alumna’s professor—is quoted in the story. seattletimes.com/seattle-news/a… #Ayşenur #Palestine

My colleague Aria Fani on his mentee #AysenurEygi killed by the IDF in the occupied West Bank: “I begged her not to go, but she had this deep conviction that she wanted to participate in the tradition of bearing witness to the oppression of people and their dignified resilience.”
