This video is fascinating. The driver of a car in #Taiwan gets warning of an #earthquake and takes appropriate action, stopping in a rockfall shelter. And what a good job they did, as rockfalls inundated the road.
Early warning systems save lives, so long as you have a plan.

🌋Geochemistry update 🌋 The lava erupted on Feb. 8th 2024 has a very similar composition to the previous two eruptions at Sundhnúksgígar, indicating they are fed from the same magma storage region. Tephra MgO of 6.6 wt% and K/Ti of 0.22.

Eruption began on Reykjanes at 6 am this morning. Location very similar to December 18 eruption. The duration is expected to be short like the last two which were a couple of days long

Compared with avaiable published and unpublished data, the ongoing 2023 eruption has very similar MgO and TiO2 content to that of historical and prehistorical eruptions in Svartsengi, but the K2O/TiO2 is comparable to late erupted lavas during the 2021-23 Fagradalsfjall eruptions
