This is fantastic news. Interestingly almost 50% of patients came off the drug in 12 months but still saw a slowling of disease progression.

We’re investing £2m into tackling inequalities faced by people living with dementia. We need research teams which can help us make change happen! Find out more at our webinar on July 12th. Pls share #dementia #dementiaresearch #inequalities

This is without doubt one of the most exciting initiatives in dementia research right now. We are very lucky to have the exceptional Laura Rooney to lead it.

Great session on fluid biomarkers in Lewy Body Dementia at #aaic2024. We need to make sure we keep funding research into every cause of dementia not just Alzheimer's disease.

Breaking news on the Alzheimer’s disease treatment lecanemab! The MHRA have approved lecanemab for some people with early-stage Alzheimer’s disease. However NICE does not recommend use on the NHS for any patients.

We’ve been waiting decades for a treatment which can alter the course of this devastating condition. This is a monumental decision by MHRA for people living with dementia and must spur action on diagnosis – because right now the system isn’t ready for these drugs. 1/2.

It will be disheartening news that lecanemab will not be provided through the NHS but this is the beginning, not the end of treatments for Alzheimer’s disease. Research is hope and we know this is just the first step. 2/2.

It is great to be at the launch of the partnership between Alzheimer's Society and the NHS Clinical Entrepreneur Programme. It is equally great to see Simon Lord, the head of innovation at Alzheimer's Society outline the scale of the problem.

So emotive to hear from Tamsin and Tony about their personal motivations for wanting to partner with Alzheimer's Society. With nearly 1 million people living with dementia in the UK today, dementia impacts everyone. That's why we need the best entrepreneurs to focus on dementia.

Excited to support this new platform which will support dementia researchers to thrive in their careers! The platform will be a place where researchers can connect, share knowledge, offer support and begin new collaborations.
