Truly fascinating to hear about Matthew MacDougall’s thoughtful work over the past several years helping Neuralink prepare for their first-in-human trial. Greatly appreciated his openness during his MGH Neurosurgery visit; got a needed eye-opener for this new era we are entering.
It’s been a little while since I’ve seen Andreas Horn present in person at a meeting like this first meeting of the Deep Brain Stimulation Society - I always learn (and re-learn) not only important #DBSscience, but also strategies for presenting science, from his clear visualizations.
I first met Cameron McIntyre several years ago at another European DBS meeting; ever since, I’ve been trying to develop a deeper understanding of his important modeling work… Brain Modulation Lab just published our first pass at synthesis: bit.ly/DBSbiophysics Deep Brain Stimulation Society
In this conversation with Bechir Jarraya and Jordy Tasserie they talk about their study on DBS for consciousness in a nonhuman primate model - recently published in Science Advances - tune in here 👇👇 stimulatingbrains.org/36-bechir-jarr…

Some of our MGH Neurosurgery crew enjoying the Annual Epilepsy Foundation New England Gala last night - always great to be with so many people dedicated to improving the lives of people with epilepsy !
Thanks for the fantastic feedback on our paper, everyone. We are over the moon! 💫 In case you are interested but you lack the time to read the entire thing, we wrote a one-page summary for Nature Neuroscience that is freely available here: rdcu.be/dzqw2
Human brain responses to Theta burst stimulation can modulate with each stim!
