Our newest addition to Zoo Miami! I was privileged to photograph this American flamingo that hatched on June 14th! It has yet to be sexed but is thriving under the exceptional care of its keepers. It won't get its iconic coloring until after it reaches a year old.

dropbox.com/scl/fi/oac1bzo… Back from a trip of a lifetime in Southern Africa! Extra special because I was able to share it with one of my dearest friends, Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz. Dan's words in this intro upon his return, mean more to me than I could ever express! Thank you, Dan!

Elephants keeping cool Zoo Miami using muddy clay to protect them from the sun and biting insects as well as simply cooling off. This is why though their natural color is gray, our elephants are often red! #elephantlove #nikonambassador

An image from our African safari of lilac-breasted roller. The challenge in photographing this bird is being able to capture the wings extended so that you can see the stunning blue secondary feathers. #nikoncreators

I cannot believe that there has never been an official designation by the U.S. Senate or House of Reps declaring the bald eagle the National Bird! It has been a national symbol since 1782! Thankfully, there is finally a push to correct this and get it done in the Senate!

For the record, I will praise a politician for doing something I think is positive and important but I am not a fan of politics and have made it a personal policy not to publicly officially endorse any politician in an election.

The saddlebill stork is an African bird that stands close to 5 ft. tall as it wades through swamps feeding on fish, frogs and other small animals. The only outward physical difference between males and females is males have a dark iris and females have a bright yellow iris.

An approximately 4 week old endangered African painted dog puppy focuses on me in the Okavango Delta in Botswana. Such a privilege to observe and photograph these extraordinary carnivores!
