Good Afternoon. Made a rainfall map for this upcoming system. Very tricky forecast as models are all over the place. Dry air will be an issue north of route 50 & i-70. Showers & drizzle possible starting by midday tomorrow. Activity looks scattered overnight into Wed. #MdWx

Stratiform rain shield currently building north. Looks a bit more impressive than modeled. Should reach DC around 3ish & Baltimore around 5ish. The northern edge will run into some dry air across central/northern MD. Heaviest rain will occur overnight & tomorrow morning #MdWx

Current radar shows showers widespread across the region. More developing across the eastern shore & tracking NW. This will continue throughout the day & into tonight. Stay dry! #mdwx

Some nice thunderstorms forming across western PA & MD. These will track east into the evening. There is a back door cold front which will interact with this area of energy & cause rain to linger across central/northern MD & S. PA overnight into tomorrow morning. #mdwx

Strong segment of storms will drop south into southern PA & MD overnight. Heavy rain, gusty winds & lightning are the big threats. Isolated flash flooding is possible in the green zone marked by the WPC! Stay safe! #mdwx

A tropical system looks likely to come out of the Gulf, and make landfall by the end of the upcoming work week along the Gulf coast. Both the GFS & Euro models show the fujiwhara effect as an upper level low interacts with the tropical system. Really cool stuff!!
