The cereal disease year is under way. Septoria tritici blotch from the slopes region of southern NSW. Crown rust in oats and wheat steak mosaic virus confirmed as well. Keep an eye on early sown grazing crops. NSW DPI Agronomy Steven Simpfendorfer
🪲Aphids are about! Mild autumn creates ideal conditions for aphid migrations and damages in newly established crops. Canola is particularly susceptible to the GPA, which can transmit TuYV. More details⬇️

When did you plant sorghum this summer? Late planting can be more susceptible to Rutherglen bugs, which are increasing in numbers in Liverpool and Moree Plains. If your sorghum is in the soft dough stage, check for RGBs!
