Former CDC Director Robert Redfield: โ€œIn Sept. 2019 the Wuhan lab did 3 thingsโ€: -civilian->military leadership. -deleted their entire research record of every coronavirus they ever sequenced for over a decade. -put a contractor & redo the ventilation system of that lab.

The idea that you could decrease infections by increasing infections has to go down as one of the worst ideas in the history of medicine. It ranks up there with bloodletting to get rid of evil humors. Infecting kids also had nothing to do with education, did it.

Utterly shameful. I hope this decision is reversed quickly. These children and families deserve a voice and to be able to hold decision -makers to account. #Longcovid #LongCovidKids

Excellent work and timely as I have just got our SAMHE Project IAQ data (Feb 24- July 24). Overlaying our CO2 data onto your predictions (thin solid line) it show that the CO2 peak shifts to the right towards your model. Although our CO2 is still lower than predicted... 1/3

A very eloquent summary of the Long-Covid position in the UK by Dr Binita Kane (Consultant Respiratory Physician, former member of Independent SAGE).

What I learned today from HSE representative Richard Brunt UK Covid-19 Inquiry In the matter of suboptimal IPC guidance in healthcare 1. โ€˜Itโ€™s not our fault!โ€™ HSE tried to hide behind PHE/IPC cell - guidance authors, basically, whoever they may be - we still donโ€™t know /1

Please take a moment to read Professor Raymond Agius' editorial. These lessons have to be learned and recommendations implemented. HSE. Why are there not already codes of practice in place. Never again can we afford the 'let it rip' approach to pandemics academic.oup.com/occmed/advanceโ€ฆ

Note this next bit: โ€œThe one-time Chair of the IPC Cell, Dr Lisa Ritchie, at a meeting with colleaguesย of mine in August 2022, is on record confirming that โ€œat first, the IPC (Cell) had no experience of the hierarchy of controls, but it was a rapid learning curveโ€. 5/

"Covid-19: A risk assessment too far". Discusses the abuse/misuse of "risk assessment" during the pandemic. Not one of my shorter blogs (!) but hope the content makes it worth the read. tinyurl.com/v8xd45ha Thanks to colleagues in Patient Safety Learning for publishing.

Tim Cook Dr Evonne T Curran NursD ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฆ A cough is a cough, no matter how it is caused. Simple isn't it? So why protect only the minority of HCWs inside ITUs and hot spots? Total lack of logic or ethics!
