To be clear I’m not intrinsically against any of these AI models being used to make and enjoy ideas about art and style— you’ve seen me fall in love with using them on my TL! I just want to go in eyes wide open with best practices geared toward recognizing artists’ labour.

Also: what is the history of replicative visual technologies in art historical and media historical context and how does this differ? How do we frame consent with respect to not just replication, but learning and categorization innate to the processes these algorithms use?
