Yesterday, I walked 10km the London #legalwalk with my wonderful colleagues in support of access to justice.  People move and will always do. Legal support is the least a country can offer to those who have to move for a reason.

Why am I not surprised that it’s Germany that hosts the first Taliban official at a gathering in Cologne. One German speaking Afghan male pseudo journalist must be over the moon about this!

This was inspiring. Refugee Legal Support (RLS)🧡 invited to speak to law and political science students at #UniversityLille about #RefugeeProtection in the UK for their comparative law studies. The challenges are huge but they’re so engaged with protecting international human rights

Our JCWI #TimeIsNow event, where we’ve launched our manifesto, has kicked off. Wonderful to hear our lived experience advisory board member Shamim Sarabi, deliver our keynote speech - to demand ‘people can live a free, fair + dignified life regardless of immigration status’

Our Refugee Legal Support (RLS)🧡 Shamim Sarabi speaking to a packed house about being a #refugee. The stereotypes and barriers! Too educated and English-speaking to be a ‘typical’ refugee? There’s no such thing. It’s our gain (and your loss).

Our very own Shamim Sarabi gave the keynote speech at the launch of the JCWI Lived Experience Manifesto last night. Demanding that ‘people can live a free, fair + dignified life regardless of immigration status’

Three years have passed since the fall of Kabul, but Afghan resettlement needs remain critical. 23.7 million people in Afghanistan will need humanitarian aid in 2024. The UK government promised safe resettlement schemes but hasn’t delivered, leaving many in danger.
