4. Improving digital health literacy for people with SMIs in China is needed for implementing digital health technologies in this population.

1. The ownership rate of a smartphone (95.5%) and Internet (82.1%) were high among people with severe mental health problems (SMIs) in China.
2. Most respondents reported having no barriers to owning or using a mobile phone.

1. digital technology ownership and usage rate of people with SMI in China;
2. attitudes toward DHTs in mental health services;
3. how the COVID-19 pandemic has influenced views on digital mental health.
