Working on a problem reduces the fear of it. It’s hard to fear a problem when you are making progress on it—even if progress is imperfect and slow. Action relieves anxiety.

I want to send a HUGE thanks to Jamila Michener, whose prompt and rubric was so generously shared on Twitter and which I heavily based my own prompt/rubric on. 10/10 x.com/povertyscholar…

you are truly unstoppable when you know yourself beyond their projections, their opinions and their indifferences. you add an extra layer of protection when you choose to love yourself through their misunderstandings of you.

september, plant me where growth exists regardless of how unfamiliar the soil may feel. root me in patience no matter how uncomfortable the lack of movement may feel. let me see myself beyond everything temporary so i can appreciate everything meant to stay. widen my inner scope.

steps back are not always a sign of stagnancy. they are not a sign of a lack of growth either. being able to take steps back requires great courage and a real quietening of the ego, and is often an indication that you possess the awareness to facilitate your growth differently.

Here's your end-of-semester reminder: if you had a professor this semester who you liked and think they did a good job--tell them. Tell their department chairs. Tell their deans. Tell them especially if they are early career/pre-tenure/not tenure track/adjuncts, etc. Tell them!

Actually this COP is very good for Pritam and WP. The entire Singapore had the opportunity to see how sharp, competent, and composed the Leader of the Opposition was. He performed brilliantly even under immense stress and pressure. Now, that's all that people will remember.

march, increase the volume on my intuition and quiet doubts that are whispered in my ear. give me the courage to accept what is no longer for me, so i can continue to make room for what is. let fear give me perspective, but let faith be the fuel that drives me to my destination.

An insightful & amazing presentation by Siobhan Lawler - “Stakeholder perspectives on restorative justice for sexual violence.” Quotes like “it’s not just physical safety, it’s psychological safety”, got me thinking deeper & truly broadened my views. #ANZSOC2022

you’ve outgrown it for a reason. it isn’t by your side anymore because the weight of your steps need to be felt differently, it doesn’t feel as familiar as it used to because you’re not the same person you used to be, you lost grip of it because it was never yours to begin with.
