Social Studies teachers should address the election. Social Studies teachers should teach students how to hold respectful conversations. Administrators should support teachers in doing this. People should not dig exit polling data because it is garbage.

This is a problem for our democracy. School and social studies is where students learn to listen to others/engage in civil discourse. Please be like Shari Conditt, NBCT and teach about the election (even if you fear parents; don't let unhealthy polarization affect your classroom too).
