I’m the only one who can repeal this (politically problematic for the House R majority makers) policy (that was a a critical - and much debated - component of the final agreement I signed into law as part of my cornerstone legislative achievement as president)!

There was a funny controversy in the 2000s when people said Ezra Klein was being uncivil for saying blocking Medicaid expansion kills people. But what was he supposed to do, lie? Sorry that’s just what that policy choice does.

One hopeful aspect of this story is that ordinary people - across the political spectrum - have routinely shown themselves to be more decent and capable of shame and regret than the men at the top of the Republican ticket.

On the one hand, it’s terrible that he’s choosing to spread what he knows are lies, lies that endanger a community it’s his job to represent. On the other hand, it’s funny that he’s starting to sound like Margot Tenenbaum.
