Geoff BuysCars Had ANPR cameras on my road last week for 4 days. Speedsters stopped. Cameras went. Speedsters came back. What did this 'data collecting' achieve? BTW : Tony Soper has died. Someone tell Wikipedia this is NOT Tony Soper.

RIP Tony Soper, a big influence on me when I was a young lad fascinated by the natural world, and he helped inspire a lifelong interest in birds and birding. theguardian.com/environment/20…

Sorry to read about Tony Soper passing away. Discovering Birds had the definitive "Roger Limb of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop" 1980s theme.

Stephen Moss It’s disconcerting when a star of the natural history firmament blinks out.Tony Soper was such a fixture of my childhood, part of the BBC natural history (Animal) magic. A sad day but it prompts a need to treasure the process: Attenborough,Oddie,Packham et al.

Sad to hear about Tony Soper passing. He was a hero to me growing up. Has left an impressive legacy behind and done so much for wildlife.

Stephen Moss Sad news indeed, but a good innings. Tony Soper will always be remembered by me for when the BBC actually did educational programming for children. RIP.

Tony Soper really was like one of those very few teachers who could cut through and seize the imagination. RIP. What a marvellous man.

RIP Tony Soper, who died today ( aged 95). My interest in nature was awakened by his books and TV shows. In retrospect he never appeared to get the recognition I feel he deserved.

Everyone of a certain age remembers Johnny Morris from Animal Magic but who remembers the other guy, Tony Soper who passed away at the age of 95.

Sad to hear about the passing of Tony Soper. He was someone who was on telly when I was growing up and was the co founder of the BBC Natural History Unit. bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p0…

Wikipedia tells me that an episode of “Wild Track” presented by Tony Soper is a bonus feature in the DVD set of the “Life on Earth” (1979) series by David Attenborough. I have watched the DVDs of the whole “Life” series, and I never noticed.
