owen cyclops please don’t interpret this as an ACKSHUALLY but rather an interesting science tidbit: in animal terms, poison is something secreted by an animal. Venom is something an animal injects into you with a bite etc. So I think frogs have poison and snakes have venom, for example.

this prompts one of my favorite anecdotes where i saw a guy administering this, and he shows me the dots. they were very red and dark, and he says, "yeah thats your body riding itself of toxins." and i was like bro i think the toxin your body is getting rid of is FROG VENOM lmao

whether that is because they actually believe it had some metaphysical spiritual antipathy to ayahuasca (the reason presented) or if they just didnt want college age white kids they were somewhat looking after stabbing themselves with frog venom is not something i could discern.
