Too often, we hear stories of a pedestrian hit by a distracted driver. We need to put an end to these types of incidents. With bills Assemblymember Jon Rivera and I have proposed, we can listen to experts to design safer streets - a proven strategy for municipalities across NYS.

The tragic school shooting in Georgia is the latest in a long list of preventable acts of gun violence that plague our nation. Red flag laws like the ones passed in NY can save lives. We owe it to the victims to take action at every level of government to prevent more tragedies.

Community solar is an important tool to help New York produce enough clean energy to meet our growing needs. This new, 40 acre solar farm on Grand Island will allow WNYers to benefit from sustainable solar power without the up front cost of installing their own panels.

It doesn't have to be this way. Getting shot at school, or work, or a grocery store is not a "fact of life." We need leaders who recognize the crisis of gun violence and who are committed to ending it once and for all.

More and more, people are realizing what Buffalo has to offer! As we look toward the future, we need to uplift and support the local cultural institutions which contribute to the tourism economy.
