Dunking on PP has become low-hanging fruit, but it’s important to remember that this desperate, sneering, ludicrous person was in charge of the most influential literary publication in the world for almost a decade.

How on earth did we let that happen?

So we are clear, Columbia & Barnard are un-housing student activists w/o any plan for their relocation bc they are…protesting a genocide. At night. In NYC.

This behavior is UNHINGED. All faculty everywhere should be speaking up about this gross abuse of students.

My hope is 1) No one agrees to be the USC commencement speaker OR 2) They get up to the podium and do nothing but read Asna Tabassum statement word for word. shorturl.at/lRTV5

U.S. universities are businesses first, political entities a very close and related second, and educational institutions a distant third. Today is just an ugly reminder of this evergreen fact.

I think about this a lot, weirdly. Call it my Roman Empire. High school U.S. history classes seem to peter out after World War II. Mine certainly did.

Having your own students arrested for trespassing — a crime only because you suspended their right to be on campus — is just so obviously, horribly beyond the pale literally no matter what they were protesting.

It's an American pastime to make fun of college students for being coddled or spoiled etc. But putting your future on the line for the sake of your fellow students in support of one of the greatest causes of liberation today is genuinely courageous stuff

in college i was one of about a dozen students expelled the week before graduation for a peaceful protest against a white supremacist the school paid thousands of $ to come speak

the school downgraded the expulsions to suspensions ONLY bc faculty voted to boycott commencement
