A sublime concert last night in which Ed Balls shared his deep love for the music of Herbert Howells with a capacity audience. The wonderful BBC Singers were conducted with such sensitivity by Nicholas Chalmers and also by Ed himself in two of the pieces. A heart-warming evening!
What tremendous news! What John Rutter does for choral music is beyond words - not just outstandingly crafted compositions which touch the soul, or groundbreaking recordings of core repertoire, but tireless (& selfless) advocacy of grassroots choral singing. Thank you, John!
Take a look at some of the important work being done by BBC Singers with our partner schools in East London. Thank you UCL East campus for hosting this beautiful event celebrating #Gaia

What a day! We have had a fantastic day hosting The National Youth Orchestra. Amazing to see so many young people involved in high quality music making. Extra special to see our alumni working as a tutor for NYO. We can’t wait to have you all back again.

My friends in Northampton Bach Choir are getting excited and cranking up the PR for Haydn’s Creation in Northampton on Friday 27th. I love everything about the tweet below, even though I’ve no idea what “phattest” means.
We are SO VERY EXCITED to be welcoming The National Youth Orchestra to Malcolm Arnold Academy in Northampton on Saturday 21st October, in partnership with NMPAT!⬇️
Sign up for NYO Inspire, for local musicians aged 11-18 and who play an instrument at Grade 3+ level: nyo.org.uk/events/nyo-ins… It's free!
The Northampton Bach Choir are promoting their upcoming performance of Haydn Creation (Fri 27th Oct, 7.30pm, St Matthew’s Northampton) with weekly rehearsal clips. This was quite fun last night!
Moved to tears by Richard Morrison’s beautiful article about music teachers. It’s the most wonderful profession and calling; if every child had a great music teacher, just imagine what a world could be created.
