GRC Frontal Cortex exceeded all of my expectations and has set the bar incredibly high for the next GRC I attend! I loved learning from and getting to know so many inspiring scientists and left with a list of analyses and experiments to try (and more importantly many new friends!) 🧠

🎉🎉🎉 HUUUUGE congrats to Julia Mitchell, PhD for expertly defending her doctoral thesis today! Your brilliance, kindness, tenacity, and passion for neuroscience made you a role model for everyone who was lucky enough to overlap in the lab with you. Dr Melissa Herman is one lucky PI!

Any DeepSqueak users who have encountered this error and know how to fix it? Trying to get the software up and running on different lab computers and I keep running into this same problem. It pops up whenever I try to load calls.

P.s.s. In the picture of pure transpecency, I love(d) this project but it also made me cry a lot (as Shansky Lab can attest) - so yes science is fun but it’s also hard and it’s cool to cry sometimes!!! Having a network of people to help you get through it is key! Xoxox!!

At the @CortxGrc, past the witching hour, David Moorman, Stan Floresco & I were talking about how awesome it would be if conference speakers had walk on songs. Watching the DNC is reinforcing this idea. What would yours be?

Choosing to believe that my ACNP panel "The new faces of fear" (with the amazing Maria Diehl Jonathan Fadok and Avi Adhikari) was scheduled for Wednesday afternoon because it will entice attendees to stay for the entire meeting 😃 Book your plane tickets accordingly!

Looking for advice for iDisco+ in rodent spinal cord. How are people keeping the cord straight during the final DBE clear? Ours bend into an "S" shape consistently, making later analysis a challenge. Any input or leads, please share!
