Day 1 is of Centre for Korean Studies Conference on Digital Korea has begun.

Digital Korea: Stories, systems and spaces of connection Day 2 is starting at 10am today!

The first panel at 10-11:30am today will take a look at ‘Curating Korea Online’. Speakers Lyndsey Twining, Pauline Brouard, and César Augusto Libas Ramírez will talk about making Korean cultural heritage more accessible, spaces and practices of VR festivals and slavery in Joseon

A very interesting start to the second day of our conference, thank you to the guest speakers of the first panel!

Panel 2 of the day is ‘Talking, typing, texting’ from 11:45-1:15. Speakers Inkyoung Rhee, Polly Harley & Mike Prentice and Viktoria Luise Döberl talk about Kakaotalk open chat rooms, digital hangul modifications and a showcase on how Korea has secured its global position

Another very interesting panel, thank you to the speakers! After a short lunch break there will be an industry insider panel from 2-2:45 followed by our final panel at 2:45pm.

Now: Industry Insider session with Sorah Seong who talks about her co-founded company SQRT, NFTs and DAOs

For our final panel of the conference we have ‘Cultivating New Digital Audiences’ from 2:45-4:15pm. Speakers Tae-Jun Chae, Yun-Hee Cho, Ye-Lim Choi, Youngju Ryu and Jeremiah E.Magoncia explore media, writing and true crime Youtubers

And that’s a wrap on the digital Korea conference! There will be one last talk by Mike Prentice to talk about publishing but other than that, thank you so much to all of our speakers and attendees!
