It's a hard task to follow John A. List. I did it twice in two days and I think I earned my keep 😁 It was great to present new work today (w/Karthik Muralidharan) on scaling EdTech and the core challenges in going from supplementary instruction to in-class instruction.

My student Cristina Clerici defended her PhD thesis with confidence and pride today. Thanks to Lore Vanderwalle for being an outstanding opponent and to the committee for their work. It is wonderful to see our students grow, excel, and reach the finish line after years of hard work.
I just attended the annual meeting of the editorial board of The Review of Economic Studies. One message from the editors: REStud is interested in publishing the best work, no matter how short the articles are! If you have very good short papers, you might want to try REStud first.
