UPDATE: SJFD received multiple calls for a vegetation fire just east of 101N that was threatening structures. Crews limited damage to one residential structure on Fontanelle Dr. and two sheds on other properties. No injuries. 3 adults and 2 kids displaced. Approx 3 acres burned

San Jose units are in scene of a 1/4 vegetation fire on Silicon Valley Blvd at Hwy 101. Traffic on Silicon Valley Blvd will be impacted for approximately another 30 minutes.

The #SJFD Administrative Office is closed through Monday, September 2 in observance of the Labor Day holiday. Emergency services will continue to operate as normal.

#SJFD firefighters are on scene of a full first alarm assignment at an abandoned youth center on the 600 block of Sinclair Dr. Fire damaged one external column with no extension to main building. No injuries. TOC: 7:46am. Knockdown: 8:10am.

#SJFD 3rd alarm structure fire at the 2600 block of Alum Rock Ave. The fire occurred in a strip mall and eight local business have been impacted. Eastbound Alum Rock Ave is partially closed. Avoid area if possible and use caution around personnel and equipment. No injuries.

In addition to the 3A fire on Alum Rock Ave., #SJFD responded to a full first alarm assignment at the 100 block of E Gish Rd. Involved structure had business in front and living units in back. Red Cross assisting 6 people and 7 dogs. No injuries. TOC: 4:14am. Knockdown: 5:12am.
