Today we honored the life and service of fallen Community Service Officer Long Pham. We were moved by the outpouring of support from the community and outside law enforcement agencies who came today to stand shoulder to shoulder with SJPD during this difficult time. End of Watch:

How is everyone kicking off their weekend?? Well since you asked, we attended a grand opening of a traditional Japanese judo facility called Satoh Dojo, and a Sikh martial arts tournament at the Sikh Gurdwara. Nothing like supporting our diverse sports community in San Jose!

A Field Training Officer and his trainee stopped a pedestrian for jaywalking and obstructing traffic. The jaywalker, a convicted felon, had this loaded, stolen pistol in his backpack. Proactive policing is a vital tool in the effort to keep our community safe. Great job!

Officers arrested this man for drug possession and trespassing this morning downtown. It is his third narcotics arrest recently in the same area. SJPD is laboring on Labor Day weekend, and every day, to keep downtown safe and inviting. Thanks for your hard work, officers!

Another illegally possessed gun off the streets! This one courtesy of VCET officers on a "routine" car stop. This loaded concealed pistol belonged to a convicted felon on probation for battery causing serious injury. The probationer is now back in jail.

#Air3, using #ALPR, located a stolen car driven by a suspect with warrants for robbery, kidnapping and carjacking. Later, they located a stolen car driven by a suspect on probation for manslaughter. Patrol officers took both suspects in custody on the ground. Great teamwork!

On their first flight, #Air3 got alerted to 2 stolen cars by #ALPR. 2 stolen cars returned to their owners, 1 loaded concealed pistol with an extended magazine recovered from a suspect on probation for armed robbery, and 3 in custody. Technology allows SJPD to work smarter!
